Lindsay Lohan knows there aren’t many people in Hollywood who would hire her, but she’s hoping someone will give her a chance soon. She said, “I think there’s a misconception that people still have about me, and I think it’s unfortunate. Hopefully, this [new show] will change people’s perception once and for all.” She added, “I just don’t want to seem like a martyr. But it’s in the past. I always say to people, “You do realize that was over 10 years ago?” As for getting back into the spotlight, her career goals are “to work with Martin Scorsese, work with Spielberg. I don’t know. I think goals are limitless, and there’s always going to be something new that I want to do. I just want to make people happy, and I want to stay happy.”
Kevin Hart has issued yet another apology to the LGBTQ community in the wake of the homophobic tweets that cost him the Oscars gig. This time, though, he expressed his regret in third person. He said, “Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community. We thought it was okay to talk like that, because that’s how we talked to one another … This is wrong now. Because now we’re in a space where I’m around people of the LGBTQ community, and I’m now aware of how these words make them feel, and why they say, ‘That *** hurt because of what I’ve been through.’” So will Kevin take on the Oscars after all? Even though Ellen DeGeneres put in a call to the Academy on his behalf, he said the chances are slim that he’ll do it. And Chris Rock took himself out of the running as well. At Monday’s New York Film Critic Circle Awards dinner, he said, “If it was five years ago [and] I could say something really offensive and funny right now, but I can’t do that anymore, so…heyyy!” Why can’t these guys just follow the lame script and read it poorly from the teleprompters like all the other hosts do to make sure no one thinks they came up with that crummy material?
There’s a rumor that Meghan Markle is planning to give birth at a different hospital than the one Kate Middleton used when she gave birth to her three royal babies. Instead of St Mary’s Hospital, Meghan is considering Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, where her husband’s aunt, the Countess of Wessex, had her two children. A source said it’s for the sake of logistics because “If their Royal Highnesses have moved to Frogmore Cottage before the birth, as planned, Frimley Park may be a more easily accessible option than St Mary’s.” Now, even though it seems logical, another source said it’s really because Meghan is worried people will think she’s trying to copy Kate and that they’ll compare the two, even if Meghan used the same hospital for the sake of tradition. On the flips side, people could come up with plenty of other things to say about her for using a different hospital, like maybe she thinks she’s too good for St. Mary’s or has to stand out by going her own way.
People sure got a good laugh over the Fiji water girl at the Golden Globes, the model who carried a tray of Fiji water on the red carpet, but Jamie Lee Curtis wasn’t one of them. She said, “I specifically moved away from the blatant promotions by Fiji and Moet where young women with their trays filled with their wares stood near a designated camera.” But when someone pointed out that a camera did manage to get a photo of the Fiji water girl near Jamie, she said, “I knew why there was a photographer poised there and I moved away as I said out loud that I didn’t want to be doing advertising for either. Clearly this angle shows that I moved from her being behind me and yet from the side it still happens. The sponsors of events need to get permission from people when they get them to take their picture next to products.” Most of the other celebrities who Fiji girl photobombed seemed humored by it, and she did get to a lot of celebrities, like Amy Adams, Idris Elba, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, and Heidi Klum. You can never be too far from a thirsty celebrity!
