As we previously told you, Britney Spears has postponed her Las Vegas residency following her father Jamie’s life-threatening illness, but it turns out her decision to focus on her dad also means we won’t be getting any new music from her. “Variety” reports that Britney’s “indefinite work hiatus” has also pushed back a new album, which was supposed to come out around the time of the residency’s launch in February. Justin Tranter, who has worked with Imagine Dragons and Selena Gomez, is the executive producer behind the album, which would have been Britney’s tenth studio record. While he confirmed he was “involved” in the project, he wouldn’t say when it will come out, or even if it will be this year. Brit’s manager, Larry Rudolph, added, “Everything is on hold right now until Jamie is better, but once he is, she will resume working on the album with Justin. Right now, she’s taking some time off to deal with these family issues.”
