Miley Cyrus was alone on the red carpet because Liam Hemsworth was in the hospital. We’re now finding out the reason he was laid up was because he was busy dealing with kidney stones. Liam, who’s in the midst of promoting his next film, “Isn’t it Romantic,” ended up spending Saturday night in the hospital and cancelling his press interviews because of the stones. That left Miley to walk the red carpet with her mom and dad, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus. Later, she sat in the audience with her sister, Noah Cyrus. No word on Liam’s condition, but I guess we shouldn’t bother asking Miley.

Chicago police have yet to identify a suspect in the alleged attack on “Empire” star Jussie Smollettof nearly two weeks after it was reported. Now, his neighbors think he might not be telling the truth. Neighbor Agin Muhammad said, “I’ve been in this neighborhood five years. I don’t believe it. Not around here. Half the people are gay and the other half are Black.” Another person, who asked not to be identified, said, “It’s a lie, because Chicago is the most liberal city around. They have cameras everywhere … Why can’t they find the attack?” In the meantime, while Jussie has been reluctant to turn over his phone records, that changed yesterday. Since day one, police have been asking for the phones or records to independently verify that he was on the phone with his manager, Brandon Z. Moore, during the attack. Both men have finally complied.

Katy Perry’s in a bit of hot water over her shoe line, which is on sale at retailers like Dillard’s and Walmart. The line features a shoe called “Rue Face Slip On Loafers,” which has faces on the front, and some are suggesting they look an awfully lot like blackface. The shoes, which also come in a sandal, all feature two eyes, a nose and red lips and come in beige and black. People are taking issue with the black one. While sources insist the shoes aren’t meant to be offensive, they obviously are to some so, an insider said, “”In order to be respectful and sensitive the team is in the process of pulling the shoes.” So far Katy hasn’t commented about the shoes. In more Katy Perry fashion faux pas news, the poofy pink dress Katy wore at the GRAMMYs has turned into a bunch of memes, including one where people are comparing her to a Barbie doll cake, but there’s one Katy seems to have an opinion about. When one person posted a picture of Katy and her dress as a paint roller she couldn’t help but comment, sharing the photo and noting, “hi to whoever made this edit.” Hey, at least she has a future with Sherwin-Williams if the whole fashion thing doesn’t work out.

Here’s some bad news for “This Is Us” fans. The show may be ending sooner than you think. In a new interview, showrunners Isaak Aptaker and Dan Fogelman imply that “This Is Us” could end after its sixth season. It just wasn’t meant to go on and on “endlessly,” since Fogelman says that they’ve kept…
